Wow, today is the last day! I thought it only appropriate to end this series with a recipe for pickled herring. Seeing as I will be consuming mass amounts of this stuff in the next few days in a variety of flavors (creamed herring, wine herring, mustard herring...), I thought it'd be fun to try and make my own.
